Yassir, a ride-sharing and delivery services company, ranked 16th out of 50 companies for most funded startups in the Middle East and North Africa. The company, founded by two Algerians Noureddine Taibi and Mehdi Yettou, raised $43.25 million in funding, according to Forbes magazine.
The company provides crowd-sourced transport and on-demand delivery services to more than 3 million users in 25 cities across Algeria. As well as Canada, France, Morocco and Tunisia.
Startup Yassir also received $30 million in June 2021 and plans to use it to expand in West Africa and Europe. and enter the fintech industry in 2022.
Yasir has 40,000 partners, including drivers, delivery people and merchants. Among the company’s angel investors are Max Mullen, co-founder of Instacart and founder of Farmville, Sizhao Yang, and Cleo Sham. In addition to the former director of operations for Uber in Europe and China.
